New mother Nicole Richie has revealed her seven-week-old daughter Harlow for the first time.

Like her friend Christina Aguilera, Nicole has introduced the world on the cover of US magazine People.

Richie and Joel Madden's first child, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, was born on the same day as Aguilera's son Max - January 12th - at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles
The 26-year-old says: "She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose."

Nicole's boyfriend, Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, 28, recently revealed Harlow is "definitely a mama's girl."

"Right now she needs mom because all she does is eat. I have a feeling that when she starts talking she's going to be a daddy's girl."

Some fragments from the interview:
On the six weeks since the baby’s arrival: “It’s almost like I don’t even remember what life was like before her. She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose.”

On breastfeeding: “There’s just so much I can’t eat because she’s sensitive, I eat really bland [food] – chicken noodle soup, vegetables, fish. I had to cut out milk, no tomatoes, no lettuce. You think you have to cut everything out when you’re pregnant, but you really have to cut everything out when you’re breastfeeding.”

On how long she was in labor: “I don’t know because I don’t know what time I actually went into labor, but I pushed for 10 minutes.”
