After some of us are used by the Hero series, stay tuned, here comes more.
The latest parody from the guys that brought us Naked Gun and Airplane is the Superhero Movie.
The movie will cast Drake Bell, Sara Paxton, Christopher McDonald,
Pamela Anderson, Tracy Morgan, Regina Hall, Leslie Nielsen and more, directed by Craig Mazin.
From this movie could not miss Pamela Anderson.
The scene, filming at Los Angeles' Park Hotel, parodied both the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises. In the film, Pam plays the Invisible Woman, or rather Superhero's take on the character made famous by Jessica Alba in the Fantastic Four movies. She is the secret lover of Professor Xavier, played by Morgan, complete with three-piece suit, bald dome and X-wheeled wheelchair, "the exact one from the X-Men movies" according to the actor.
Tracy Morgan as Professor X is worth the price of admission alone, but Pam's painted-one crime fighter get-up doesn't hurt either. To add insult to intended comedic injury, Morgan's Professor X is joined by a Mrs. Xavier, also in a suit and bald, as well as the Family Xavier, sporting (yep, you guessed it) chrome domes and pressed suits. In the scene, Mrs. Xavier confronts her cheating hubby in the presence of his invisible other woman, who Mrs. X bitch slaps and threatens to hilarious effect as Tracy's Xavier looks on. The scene had many takes, each one opening with Professor X getting called out by his very angry wife, with Tracy's response being an "Oh, sh*t" that only the guy who brought us Brian Fellows could deliver several times and yield laugh-out-loud results, every time.
After 10 or so takes, the scene is over. Executive Producer Bob Weinstein confers on-set with David Zucker and the director, Craig Mazin, who returns to the director's chair following his successful takes on the third and fourth Scary Movie films.
The release date of the movie is set for 28 March 2008 for U.S.
Publication date: 26 February 2008
