Tilda Swinton won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in
Michael Clayton. At the 2008 Oscars held at the Kodak Theatre on Sunday in Hollywood.
Tilda thanked costar
George Clooney.
Her turn as a soulless lawyer in "Michael Clayton" also earned her a Golden Globe nomination this year for best supporting actress.
In the supporting actress category, she won against Ruby Dee ("American Gangster"), Saoirse Ronan ("Atonement"), Amy Ryan ("Gone Baby Gone") and Cate Blanchett ("I'm Not There").
Swinton addressed Clooney, jokingly saying, “You know, [you have such a] seriousness and dedication to your art. Seeing you climb into that rubber bat suit from Batman & Robin–the one with the nipples–every morning under your costume, on the set off the set, hanging upside down at lunch. You rock, man. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
