Lindsay Lohan had a great courage to make the Marilyn Monroe style photo shoot with Bert Stern.
Lindsay is trying hard to make her freckled self look like Marilyn Monroe did six weeks before her untimely death.
"I didn’t have to put much thought into it. I mean, Bert Stern? Doing a Marilyn shoot? When is that ever going to come up?
It’s really an honor" Lindsay is quoted as saying. "Here is a woman who is giving herself to the public", she added referring to the original Marilyn spread. "She’s saying, ‘Look, you’ve taken a lot from me, so why don’t I give it to you myself.’ She’s taking control back". That's a very, very deep thing to say.
I am not really impressed by the photos, because in a comparison with the Marilyn’s these are the worst that could ever been.
Michael Lohan still hasn’t seen those topless shots of his daughter Lindsay.
“I’m not going to look at the photos — that’s my daughter!” he told in a interview.
By the way, he approves of his daughter’s decision to recreate the iconic 1962 photos of Marilyn Monroe known as “The Last Sitting” for New York magazine.
“Lindsay is an adult, and she knows the direction she wants to take her career,” he said. “It’s her decision.
“The fact that the photographer [Bert Stern] who did Marilyn Monroe’s pictures would ask Lindsay to re-create them … that’s an amazing thing.”
One thing he hopes doesn’t come from the photo set: “I pray there are no parallels to her and Marilyn Monroe’s destiny.” (Monroe died of an overdose of barbiturates at the age of 36.)
Or that can come with another bad end: for Lindsay to start shooting nude posses.
