The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced it will honor filmmaker Steven Spielberg at next year's Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Spielberg will receive the organization's Cecil B. DeMille Award, which recognizes an individual's outstanding contribution to the entertainment field, on Jan. 13.
A six-time Golden Globe winner and three-time Oscar recipient, Spielberg counts among his credits such contemporary classics as "Schindler's List," "Saving Private Ryan," "Jurassic Park," "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial," "Jaws," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "Raiders of the Lost Ark."
Recent Cecil B. DeMille winners include Warren Beatty, Anthony Hopkins, Robin Williams, Michael Douglas, Gene Hackman, Harrison Ford, Al Pacino and Barbra Streisand.
