Marie Osmond's son in rehab

U.S. entertainer Marie Osmond's teenage son is in rehab, TMZ.com reported Wednesday.

During an interview on "Larry King Live" set to air Wednesday night, Osmond confirmed her 16-year-old son, Michael, was admitted to a treatment facility the same week her father, George, died at age 90.

"It's been a hard week," she told King.

She did not say what her son was being treated for.

In a statement issued to People, Osmond said: "My son Michael is an amazing young man, shown through his courage in facing his issues. As his mother, I couldn't be more proud of him. The press and public have always been kind and gracious in the past and I know they will continue to respect our privacy during this time." // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
