No charges will be filed against British actor Jude Law who was arrested last month for allegedly assaulting a photographer, People.com said Thursday.

Law, who has been in the United States recently promoting his new film "Sleuth," was arrested Sept. 4 after he allegedly assaulted a photographer outside his home in London.

He was taken to a police station, interviewed and released on non-monetary police bail.

"The police have told me that they and the (Crown Prosecution Service) have examined the photographer's allegation extremely carefully and made the decision that there is no further action to be taken," Law told the magazine.

Law's legal team had disputed the photographer's claim.

Although Scotland Yard initially ordered Law to return to a police station at a later date, a police spokeswoman has confirmed no charges will be filed against him, People.com said.
