Borat star to play in Peter Sellers remake

Sacha Baron Cohen is most noted for his comic characters Borat (a Kazakh reporter), Ali G (a junglist-hip hop gangsta wannabe from Staines, England) and Bruno (a flamboyantly gay Austrian fashion reporter).

The British star will play in a remake of the cult Peter Sellers film The Party.

Cohen will play a bumbling Indian extra named Hrundri V who attends an over-the-top Hollywood bash and totally disrupts everything, according to New York gossip column PageSix.

The star has been tipped to reprise Sellers' role in the 1968 comedy classic.

In the original movie, “The Party”, Sellers plays a well meaning, but hapless Indian actor who is accidentally invited to a major Hollywood party, and he causes havoc there.

Sacha Baron Cohen will also star in the Tim Burton-directed “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.”  Other stars in the movie include Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter.

This film is scheduled for a nationwide release on December 21st.

Michael Keaton
Michael Keaton is known as a comic actor who can also go the serious route. His debut role in the manic morgue comedy Night Shift (1982, with Shelley Long) was typical of his offbeat style. He really became a star as the frenetic title ghoul in Tim Burton's dark comedy Beetlejuice (1988). The next year he played Batman in Burton's big-budget movie Batman; it was considered casting against type, but Keaton worked well enough ...
