Adventurers Ben Fogle and James Cracknell are thinking about inviting U.S. actor Leonardo DiCaprio to join them on a 426-mile journey to the South Pole.

The Sunday Times of London reported the adventuresome pair, who previously rowed their way across the Atlantic Ocean, want the "Titanic" star to join them on their proposed polar expedition.

"We know he wants to go to the South Pole and we know he wants to do it on foot," Fogle said of why they were drawn to the 32-year-old actor.

DiCaprio is notable among Hollywood stars for his involvement in various environmental campaigns and for driving a gas-electric hybrid car.

Fogle, a 34-year-old TV presenter, and Cracknell, a former Olympic rower, plan on traveling the 426 miles across the frigid tundra of the South Pole by foot starting in November 2008.

The pair told the British newspaper that if DiCaprio has no interest in the daring journey, they also are considering actress Cameron Diaz as a potential teammate. // Copyright 2007 by United Press International
