Cablevision says it has added The Jewish Channel to its subscription lineup in the New York metropolitan area.
The channel will be available to iO TV digital cable customers for an additional $4.95 a month.
Offering a variety of programs, including films, documentaries, talk shows, comedy, political commentary shows, cooking programs, sports, children's programs and holiday specials -- all with a Jewish theme or connection, the channel will also allow viewers to pause, fast-forward and rewind.
"Cablevision is pleased to add The Jewish Channel to the broad array of on-demand programming we offer to iO TV customers," John Trierweiler, Cablevision's senior vice president of product management, said in a statement. "The addition of such unique programming further demonstrates Cablevision's leadership position in the delivery of culturally-rich programming to our diverse customer base."
Michael Tobman, a spokesman for TJC, added that: "For less than the price of a single movie ticket, every month, viewers can watch an entire film festival's worth of programming that speaks to Jewish culture. Most people probably don't know that there's Jewish content produced at this level of quality, and we're pleased that now millions of viewers can find it on Cablevision."
