Ben Affleck plans to delay the British release date of his directorial debut, "Gone Baby Gone," because it has similarities to the Madeleine McCann case.
Based on Dennis Lehane's novel, the film is about two private detectives searching Boston's seedy underworld for a 4-year-old girl who has vanished.
The Telegraph said Affleck, himself father of a toddler girl, is prepared to take steps to prevent the film from being released in Britain in November as planned.

Police this week named Madeleine's British parents formal suspects in her disappearance while the family was on vacation in Portugal.
The child actress playing the role of the missing character in the film is named Madeline O'Brien and is said to look like Madeleine McCann.
"We are acutely aware of the situation," Affleck said. "We don't want to release the movie if it is going to touch a nerve or inflame anybody's sensitivities."
