Sad Jolie experiencing global war and povertyAngelina Jolie "cried constantly" experiencing global war and poverty first hand as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador. The Hollywood beauty visited Africa last month in a bid to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, and admits her visits to the Third World since being appointed to the role in August 2001 have left her depressing and dejected. "The first two years I just cried constantly. I couldn't really talk about the situation without being emotional. And I went through a period of just complete lack of hope", said Jolie. Brad Pitt’s partner believes those who brand her goodwill work "celebrity tourism" are ignorant of what the role actually entails. Publication date: 12 March 2007 Source: Archive
