Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel were once come up to star in a pornographic film together, but feared fans would brand it a shameful "stunt", according to Contactmusic.

The acting couple wedded in 1999 and was keen to extend their relationship to a screen business.

However, despite being tempted by director Gaspar Noe’s gross offer, Cassel admitted the movie was unsuitable.

"When we sat down and watched (porn) movies together and saw the sex scenes we thought it wasn't right. People would think it was a stunt. So at the last minute we pulled out of that and ended up doing “Irreversible” with Gaspar instead", said the actor.

And the couple, who also starred in “L'appartament” and “Sheitan” together, is keen to team up again in a movie in the near future.

"It's a way to see each other more. We have a project that we're going to do together, but we're waiting to do it. Maybe in around a year-and-a-half we're going to do another picture", said Cassel.
