Gwyneth Paltrow’s campaign against cancer

Gwyneth Paltrow took up a campaign against cancer in a drive sponsored by Damiani jewelers, according to ANI.

The illness plagued the Hollywood actress's family for long, as her dad, aunt, grandmothers and a young cousin died of cancer.

Paltrow even accepted an offer to promote a perfume, if the maker donates 255,000 pounds to cancer research.

The Oscar winning actress said she is confronting the evil genes by natural means.

"Cancer has been the curse of my family. I am challenging these evil genes by natural means," said Paltrow quoted by The Sun her.

The “Shakespeare in Love” star, who is wedded to Coldplay singer Chris Martin, said that in her home, everyone is a vegetarian and only organic soaps and cleaners are used. Gwyneth also makes it a point to keep her children from eating anything damaging.

"In my home we are all vegetarians and only use organic soap and cleaners. I want to protect my children from anything harmful in their food”, said the 30-year-old star.
