Jennifer Lopez awarded by Amnesty International

Jennifer Lopez was awarded by Human rights group Amnesty International for her new film, “Bordertown”.

Set in the Mexican town of Ciudad Juarez, it examines a series of unsolved murders of young factory women. Here Lopez plays an American investigative journalist reporting on the serial killings.

The Latin beauty, who also produces the movie, was awarded the Artists for Amnesty award before the film premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.

Lopez said she felt "very humbled" as she was presented the award by East Timor's Prime Minister Jose Ramos-Horta, a Nobel Peace laureate.

Since the murders began in 1993, Amnesty says that more than 400 young women died many after being kidnapped and raped.
In the film also star Antonio Banderas and Martin Sheen.
