Watchmaker Raymond Weil sues Charlize TheronMoldova.ORG -- Charlize Theron was sued by watchmaker Raymond Weil claiming she didn’t exclusively wear its watches as settled. According to UPI, the company alleged some instances in which Theron wore a non-Raymond Weil timepieces and appeared in ads wearing other designers' jewelry, which the watchmaker said was in "total disregard" of the contract. In May 2005, the Oscar winner actress for her role in "Monster," signed a 14-month deal with the company, promising that between October 2005 and December 2006 she would wear exclusively Raymond Weil watches, according to court papers obtained by E! News. According to the suit the contract Theron could choose her own earrings, necklaces and other jewelry for public events, but agreed to only wear watches made by Weil, for which she was paid "very substantial sums." And Theron "agrees that she will not endorse or advertise watches or jewelry for any other person, entity or company, including for charity." Raymond Weil didn't specify how much financial compensation it seeks. It asked for damages, repayment of salary for her ad campaign and fees she received for wearing competitors' items.
