Moldova.ORG -- Jennifer Lopez will receive the Artists for Amnesty award at the Berlin Film Festival for producing and starring in “Bordertown”.
The film is examining the murders of hundreds of women in a Mexican town.
The Latin beauty is set to receive her award on 14 February this year from Nobel Peace Prize winner Jose Ramos-Horta.
"Since first hearing of these atrocities in 1998...I desperately wanted to tell this story (as depicted in Bordertown). I began working to ensure we made this film in order to bring the attention of the world to this tragedy and to pressure the Mexican government to bring to justice those responsible for these horrible crimes", says Lopez.
