Moldova.ORG -- Angelina Jolie's mother died at a Los Angeles hospital after a six-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Brad Pitt was with the Hollywood beauty when the death of 56-year-old French actress Marcheline Bertrand was announced.
Bertrand raised Jolie and her brother James Haven after divorcing their father, actor Jon Voight.
While divided from Voight, Jolie was very close to her mother and had installed her in a three-bedroom suite at the Raffles L'Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills at a cost of £60,000 a year.
