Streep to star in “Mamma Mia!” muscal

Moldova.ORG -- Meryl Streep is set to star in the big screen adaptation of the hit musical “Mamma Mia!”.

As RTE.ie reports the musical, which features 22 Abba songs, tells the story of a bride-to-be who was raised by her single mother, played by Streep, the daughter invites three men who might be her father to her wedding and chaos ensues.

According to Variety Streep is an accomplished singer who previously sang in the films “Postcards From the Edge” and “A Prairie Home Companion”.

Phyllida Lloyd, who directed the original musical in London and on Broadway, will make her feature directing debut with the film.
