Adam Beach thanks Johnny Depp for stimulating him to take up an acting career, which allowed him to keep away from the world of crime, as ANI reports.
The Canadian actor of “Flags of Our Fathers” celebrity revealed that he ran with gangs and landed in a lot of trouble after taking to crime following his parents death in a span of two weeks when he was eight years old.
An episode of “21 Jump Street”, a Fox TV series starring Depp in the lead role made him realize that there was a better life for him.
"I started watching Johnny Depp, I know he's affected a lot of people, but he really changed my life because I was in the whole gang scene, I was a statistic... and here I saw a man performing these great characters in high school. I wanted to be those different characters. I wanted to run away from who I was", said Adam Beach.
Beach rose to renown for “Smoke' Signals” and he won the Best Actor award for “Dance Me Outside” in American Indian Film Festival in 1995.
