Ben Affleck and for Oscar nomination

The real-life mystery that surrounded the apparent suicide of the popular “Superman” actor, George Reeves in 1959 is under the microscope with the new Ben Affleck film in cinemas this weekend, according to ITV Network Limited.

Ben Affleck takes on the lead role, with appearances from Adrien Brody, who stars as the private detective and Bob Hoskins.

The film is tipped to earn Ben Affleck an Oscar nomination. He said he enjoyed playing the part of the “Superman” star.

"I thought finally I will be able to explore and express the way in which playing these superheroes can feel so absurd, completely ridiculous", said Affleck.

Bob Hoskins, who plays the role of a villain, said: "I quite enjoy playing nasty people. It is playing good people which is really hard."
