Brett Morgen’s documentary “Chicago 10” will be the opening night feature when the Sundance Film Festival begins early next year in Utah.
According to Monsters and Critics, the documentary, produced by Morgen and publisher Graydon Carter, uses both animation and live footage to cover the chaos that surrounded the 1968 Democratic National Convention and the anti-Vietnam War protests that accompanied it.
Morgen also directed “The Kid Stays in the Picture”, the 2002 documentary about Hollywood producer Robert Evans.
“Chicago 10” is planned to open the Sundance Film Festival Jan. 18. The festival runs through Jan. 28.
