Richard Griffiths says Harry Potter fans will detest his latest film.
The 49-year-old actor, who plays Uncle Vernon in the Potter film, insists “The History Boys”, which follows a group of English schoolboys as they prepare to take their Oxbridge entrance exams, centers on adult issues that may not appeal to fantasy fans.
Asked Griffiths what Harry Potter fans would get out of the film, adapted from Alan Bennett's stage play, which Griffiths also starred in, the actor said: "Probably nothing... nothing at all. When we first started performing 'The History Boys' on stage I used to say to people, don't bring your kids, it's full of bad language. They will be bored witless.”
"But, they ignored my advice of course and they brought their kids, and their kids found it astonishing", added he.
