Basinger violated custody orders

Kim Basinger recently pleaded innocent to violating child custody orders in her divorce case with her ex-husband, actor Alec Baldwin.

Basinger faces a maximum sentence of 60 days in jail and a $12,000 fine.

The Oscar-winning actress did not attend a hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Basinger was ordered to stand trial next year on 12 contempt charges, which stem from accusations by Baldwin that she violated court orders over the custody of their only 10-year-old daughter Ireland .

Basinger and Baldwin married in 1993. Seven years later the couple split up. Since their divorce was final in 2002, the two Hollywood actors were involved in custody battle for their daughter.

Basinger won an Academy Award for the 1997 film noir "L.A. Confidential."
