For the first time about the reallife link to his character Michael Corleone in “The Godfather” movies, Al Pacino spoke out.
As dailymail.co.uk notes, Pacino's grandfather John Gerardi moved to New York from the small Sicilian Corleone town, as did Michael's father Vito in the pictures.
But, while Vito rose to the top of the New York Gang, Pacino’s granddad resisted making ends meet in the tough South Bronx during the Depression in the 1930s.
At the age of two, Pacino’s father Salvatore left the family. So, his mother moved in with her parents.
The 66-year-old famous actor admits his mother and grandfather played a key role in his acting career.

Pacino made his most evidently come through in Francis Ford Coppola’s “Godfather” in 1972, as Michael next to Marlon Brando who played Vito.
Al Pacino’s mother and grandfather died in 1962 and respectively a year later, so they did not see his acting success.
