Daniel Smith died while visiting his mother in her hospital room yesterday.

The death of Daniel seems be "suspicious" as the chief inspector of the Bahamas coroner's office believes, according to Toronto Dailynews.

Smith’s mother stayed in hospital as she gave birth to a baby girl. Daniel spent a night in her room with a family lawyer.

Yesterday early morning Anna Nicole Smith observed that Daniel Smith did not appear to be breathing. Awaked by her lawyer checked Daniel’s pulse and right away called hospital personnel.

"Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the medical staffs were not able to revive Daniel. Even after Daniel had been pronounced dead, Anna Nicole and Howard frantically continued resuscitation efforts," revealed Mr. Scott.

The medical and toxicology reports would be withheld until they were introduced as evidence at an autopsy in the Bahamas on October 23. However, there were no external wounds to Smith's body.

The 38 year-old Anna Nicole Smith was named Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1993. She married 89 year-old oil tycoon J. Marshall Howard in 1994. He died 14 months later.
