Katie Holmes to return on TV

According to Star Pulse , actress Katie Holmes will return to the small screen with a guest role in TV show “Eli Stone,” network bosses have confirmed.

"I was at the table read and she was fabulous. It's a great role for her. There's some singing and dancing that she does, and she's exquisite," ABC network president Stephen McPherson said.

The series centers around attorney Eli - played by Jonny Lee Miller - who has an inoperable brain aneurysm that allows him to see the future. Holmes is expected to play another attorney in one hour-long episode.

“Eli Stone” executive producer Greg Berlanti previously worked with Holmes on “Dawson's Creek” - where she rose to fame playing teenager Joey Potter.

Holmes' episode is set to air October 21.
