Jimmy Kimmel will keep working the late shift at ABC for at least the next two years, VARIETY informs. The network will probably extend the run of Jimmy Kimmel Live! through 2010.
The show, which debuted in 2003, has seen a surge in popularity recently. The show's post-NBA Finals installments, dubbed Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night, have attracted good buzz — and appearances by presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain.
In the season just ended, Kimmel also beat its rival The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson in total viewers for the first time ever according to VARIETY.
