Patrick Swayze is in danger
Despite his illness that was made public to the whole world, Patrick Swayze is still acting and not following doctor’s advice.
Hollywood actor Patrick Swayze has been unable to give up smoking, despite being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He has been a heavy smoker for years, once admitting that he got through three packets, or 60 cigarettes, every day. Dr Kat Arney, of Cancer Research UK, said: "Some believe up to a third of all pancreatic cancer cases are linked to smoking." It was initially reported that Mr Swayze had been told he had just weeks to live after the shock diagnosis last week. However his doctor, George Fisher, insisted: "Patrick has a very limited amount of the disease and appears to be responding well to treatment. "We are optimistic." ![]() She said: "It breaks my heart to know he's suffering, but he bears it. He's hanging in there and getting the best treatment he can. He doesn't deserve to get this. He's got such a big heart." In fact, the doctor told him last week that he would not survive more than a few weeks from now, as it had reportedly been claimed that the disease had spread. The 55-year-old actor has had three doses of chemotherapy till date but the tumour has reduced much less than the doctors had expected. Publication date: 14 March 2008 Source: Archive
