Darren Aronofsky

Darren Aronofsky was born on February 12, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York. He is an American film director, screenwriter and film producer.

He made his debut with Pi (1998). Pi garnered Aronofsky the 1998 Sundance Festival's Directing Award for Dramatic Competition.

His next directorial credits include Requiem for a Dream (2000), starring Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto and Jennifer Connelly and The Fountain (2006), starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz.

Aronofsky has signed on to direct The Fighter, the tale of the rise of Boston boxer "Irish" Micky Ward. Other future projects that Aronofsky has been linked to include The Wrestler (2009) and Black Swan (2008).

Aronofsky is engaged to English actress Rachel Weisz.
