David Leo Fincher was born on August 28, 1962 in Marin County, California. He is an American music video and film director.

At 18, Fincher asked his neighbor George Lucas if he could have a job at his special effects company Industrial Light and Magic (ILM). Lucas gave him a job and he stayed for four years. During his stint at ILM, he had the opportunity to work on Return of the Jedi (1983) and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984).

Fincher made his directorial debut in the movies with Alien3 (1992), which was then the highest budgeted picture by a first time director.

He also directed Se7en (1995) starring Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey. In 1997, Fincher released his third film The Game, starring Michael Douglas and Sean Penn.

In Fight Club (1999) Fincher worked with Brad Pitt again and also cast Edward Norton. His last directed movies was Panic Room (2002) and Zodiac (2007).
