After what last week Brad Pitt has donated $100,000 to fight California’s Proposition 8, a ballot initiative that would ban same-sex marriage in the state.

“Because no one has the right to deny another their life even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another, and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8,” the 44-year-old actor said in a statement.

Now, Steven Spielberg and his wife, Kate Capshaw have donated $100,000 to fight Proposition 8, they announced in a statement Monday.

"By writing discrimination into our state constitution, Proposition 8 seeks to eliminate the right of each and every citizen in our state to marry regardless of sexual orientation," the statement said. "Such discrimination has NO place in California's constitution, or any other."

The Marriage Protection Act, Proposition 8 would amend the state constitution to limit marriage to a man and a woman. If passed, it would overturn the court decision that made the state only the second in the U.S. to legalize same-sex marriage.
