Stern: “California has no need for the body of Anna Nicole”

Moldova.ORG -- An order prevented the body of Anna Nicole Smith from being buried was lifted by a judge in Los Angeles, according to Digital Spy.

Superior Court Judge Robert Schnider ruled last week that the body be preserved until February 20.

However, the DNA necessary for the legal battle over the paternity of her child was already get and a judge ruled that there is no reason to put off the burial further.

An attorney for lawyer Howard K. Stern, one of several men claiming paternity over the child in question, told ABC News: "California has no need for the body of Anna Nicole."

There were concerns that the body, which was not embalmed, would not be suitable for an open casket, but plans for a "proper burial" are now going ahead.
