Star Trek to be released on Christmas Day

The most recent episode of the “Star Trek” series is to be released on Christmas Day 2008.

“Mission Impossible: III” director J.J. Abrams recently signed on to direct the film being rumored for months.
The prequel is to focus on a young Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock and their initial meeting at Starfleet Academy and first mission in space.

Abrams, who was developing the project, is set to start filming in the autumn.
The 10 Star Trek films earned more than $1 billion international.
