Robert Downey Jr. talks Sherlock Holmes
Robert Downey Jr., will play the legendary detective film Sherlock Holmes. On Wednesday at Freemasons Hall, London, the actor made a press conference where he talked about his upcoming movie.
“I think me and [director Guy Ritchie] are well-suited to working together,” Robert Downey Jr. said. “The more I look into the books, the more fantastic it becomes. Holmes is such a weirdo.”
Other members of the crew that will participate at the project British actress Kelly Reilly and costar Mark Strong. McAdams will play Sherlock’s love interest Irene Adler, Mark Strong will play the part of villain Blackwood, Jude Law will play super sleuth sidekick Dr. Watson and Reilly will be Watson’s love interest Mary.
The new Sherlock Holmes film is based on an original story by Lionel Wigram inspired by the Arthur Conan Doyle books.

The new Holmes movie has a tentative release date of 2010 -and Ritchie joked: "We've done as much as we can to sabotage Sacha Baron Cohen."
