Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe officially divorced
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe are no more in a marriage from Oct.5.
After seven years of marriage, Witherspoon, 31, filed for divorce in November 2006, citing irreconcilable differences.
The actors had to settle their custody arrangements over daughter Ava, 8, and son Deacon, 3. Both parents are seeking a shared custody arrangement.
Witherspoon told the October issue of Elle that she found strength in realizing that so many others have also made it through the pain of a divorce. In the interview she revealed some of her marriage details and what went wrong.
Phillippe said the divorce is "the most personally devastating time in [my] life," but that daughter Ava serves as his inspiration.
This was a couple in Hollywood to be proud of. They were young, beautiful and so in love and moreover, with kids.
