Princess Diana future concert tickets taken off eBay
Moldova.ORG -- In the wake of rampant online scalping of tickets for the future memorial concert in Britain for Princess Diana, eBay banned their resale, as UPI reports.
Prior to the auction Web site's decision, dozens of already purchased tickets to the July 1 concert were obtainable on eBay.
But Pollstar said their cost was greater than before so substantially that some were five times their original price.
"In view of the unique and commemorative nature of the Concert for Diana event and as a mark of respect for the memory of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, eBay has decided to not allow the resale of tickets to this event on the site," explained an eBay spokesman.
The tribute concert, created by Princes William and Harry, will feature musical acts such as singer Joss Stone, Pharrell Williams, Elton John and Duran Duran.
While the concert's organizers attempted to limit ticket purchases by limiting four tickets per buyer, all of the first 22,500 tickets made available sold out within minutes, Pollstar said.
