Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are rumored to be engaged, and to plan a wedding.
Penelope’s rep had no comment while Javier’s rep told People, “I really don’t know, but would not be able to say anything even if I did.”
“They tried to keep it very private and quiet,” a source tells Us Weekly.
A pal told the New York Daily News that Penelope wants to marry Javier to appease Penelope’s Catholic parents — given the perky rumors that she’s pregnant, which she’s denied.
Penelope, 35, and Javier, 40, first met on the set of Jamon, Jamon in 1992.
