Owen insists Craig to be perfect choice for Casino Royale
Clive Owen wished new 007 Daniel Craig “all the best”, despite the fact that he was supposedly one of the major competitor for the suave superspy's role, as newkerala.com notes.
Rumors were abuzz that producers were keen on casting Owen as the new James Bond, but the Closer star insists he was never a true adversary for Craig because he never wanted to play the superspy.
Owen insists the makers made the ideal choice casting Craig in “Casino Royale”.
"I think he looks great. I'm delighted that they chose a really great, proper actor for the part and not some posing guy. He's a seriously good actor and it looks like the right direction to take that whole thing," said Owen quoted by Contactmusic.
"It was all rumor of me being attached. People talked around that as an idea but I pulled myself out of the frame. Instead, I took a number of films which made me completely unavailable. There's no question of me ever doing it because I went out there and chose to do other things," added the actor.
