The 80th Academy Awards ceremony, honoring the best in film for 2007, took place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California.

Some of the like Katherine Heigl, Helen Mirren, Miley Cyrus, Ruby Dee, Anne Hathaway and Heidi Klum were among the stars in red gowns Sunday night at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

But the black color made a great glitter on the red carpet. Hilary Swank, Jennifer Garner, Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz chose the black glamorous color to be the queen of the show.

Hilary Swank (in Atelier Versace) was packing nuts as a snack in her black clutch–she even admitted to eating a piece of carrot cake in the car on her way to the Oscars!

Jennifer Garner (in Oscar de la Renta) was left nervous and lost for words after Gary Busey confronted her on the red carpet at the Oscars - and kissed her. The actress was in the middle of a live interview when Busey introduced himself and pounced, leaving Garner more than a little shocked - because she had no idea who he was. She told E! red carpet host Ryan Seacrest, "Ask me about getting kissed on the neck on the red carpet by this man... That was nice!"

Amy Ryan (in Calvin Klein) earned a best supporting actress Oscar nomination for her powerful performance as a neglectful mother in "Gone Baby Gone."

Parent-to-be Nicole Kidman (in custom Balenciaga) came at the show with her husband Keith Urban at the 2008 Oscars held at the Kodak Theatre on Sunday in Hollywood. Nicole had a show-stopping necklace — 7,645 diamonds totaling nearly 1,400 carats by L'Wren Scott. Kidman and other pregnant actresses Jessica Alba, Cate Blanchett and Angelina Jolie were entertained with a joke made by Jon Stewart.

Penelope Cruz (in Chanel Haute Couture) wore a dress named: a dress to kill. Penelope has recently been romantically linked with Spanish actor Javier Bardem who became the first Spanish actor to win an Oscar on Sunday by taking the best supporting actor award for his chilling portrait of a psychopathic killer in "No Country For Old Men."
