Mischa Barton gets rejected
Producers of the upcoming model-centric drama The Beautiful Life are casting to fill the void left by Mischa Barton, who was placed under psychiatric hold last week.
She wastransferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday evening. Someone can be held involuntary if s/he us deemed to have a mental disorder that makes them a danger to him or her self, and/or others and/or gravely disabled. Britney Spears was held involuntarily twice in Los Angeles in January 2008.
According to EW, the contingency plan is to add a new female character to the show and not directly recast Mischa’s character, supermodel Sonja Stone.
Production on Beautiful Life will begin July 31. It was originally scheduled to start on July 22 but was not postponed to Mischa’s medical problems (the show says some sets were not completed on time).
