Mickey Rourke becomes evil in Iron Man 2
Mickey Rourke becomes a negative character in the second movie Iron Man.
In Iron Man 2, Rourke plays the evil assassin Whiplash pursuing Robert Downey Junior's character Iron Man, aka Tony Stark.
Jon Favreau said about the main characters: 'The technologies (of Whiplash and Iron Man) are definitely related. That's part of the core theme of the film.'
Whiplash's human alter ego, Ivan Vanko is a Russian who 'has constructed his own version of a suit'.
Moreover, Rourke has started learning Russian so his pronunciation is correct in the movie.
He said: 'I decided to do half my role in Russian and that's hard because the Russian language doesn't roll off the English-speaking tongue very easily.
'I spent three hours a day with a teacher, and after two weeks I know four sentences.'
Rourke also stars alongside Gwyneth Paltrow as Stark's assistant Virginia 'Pepper' Potts, Don Cheadle as side kick War Machine and Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow.
