Michael Bay announces ‘One Way Out’ reality show
Michael Bay will have his own reality show, named “One Way Out,” the upcoming series will feature ordinary people in extreme situations, and will certainly blow audiences away.
Though only weeks ago, Bay was updating “Transformers” fans with the latest on the upcoming installment in the very lucrative franchise, he did not say one word about any future plans as regards work in television. Be that as it may, “One Way Out” is happening and is bound to redefine the genre of action reality shows because of its unique format. Bay might be a bit thrifty with details, but that much is certain: the show will not stray too far from the projects he’s been making for the silver screen.
“Michael Bay (Transformers) will team up with Emmy-nominated producers Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz of Magical Elves (Top Chef) to co-produce One Way Out, an action-adventure TV show that pits ordinary folks in a game that apparently features ‘no rules.’ The show, which marks Bay’s first foray into reality TV, will include players who have secret pasts that must be kept hidden from their fellow competitors, according to a statement from the producers. Players are forced to adapt to ‘hostile environments each week’ while the action builds to a ‘climactic showdown,’ where all secrets are exposed. Bay and the Magical Elves team are currently shopping the show to the networks,” EW writes.
“For my first television project I wanted to do something that had never been done before, and I believe that One Way Out accomplishes that. Combining unique twists, death-defying challenges, and stunning visuals, we are reinventing the genre, showing just how far people will go when they are stripped of their bare necessities and forced to do whatever it takes to survive,” Bay himself says of the show in a statement for the same publication.
Though “One Way Out” is billed as Bay’s first foray into television, the famed director did have other projects aside from his feature films in the past. For instance, in December 2009, he teamed up with popular lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret for a commercial in Michael Bay style.
