Meryl Streep receive the Barnard Medal of Distinction
Meryl Streep will deliver Barnard College’s commencement address on May 17.
The celebrated actress, 60, will address 600 members of the college’s class of 2010 and will receive the Barnard Medal of Distinction at a ceremony in New York City.
“[Meryl] is known for the perfection of her craft and for her painstaking preparation in each role she has undertaken,” Barnard president Debora L. Spar said in a statement. “And, outside of acting, she has used her brilliant voice to support the arts, international human rights, and the environment, as well as health issues of great importance to women and families including cancer, child health, and AIDS.”
