Meryl Streep is radiant at Rome Film Festival
Living legend Meryl Streep hits the red carpet at the International Rome Film Festival’s premiere of Julie & Julia on Thursday (October 22).
Meryl, 60, will be awarded the Marcus Aurelius award for her lifetime achievement tomorrow, following in the footsteps of actors like Sean Connery and Al Pacino.
Julie & Julia, which premiered in the US this summer, was a way for Meryl to pay tribute to her mother. “She had the same joie de vivre,” she said.
“Embedded in this film is the idea is that as long as you have food and shelter, the necessities… what makes you happy on top of that is very simple and it’s accessible to anyone,” Meryl shared. “It’s a lovely message and it’s certainly true.”
