'Little Fockers' tops Christmas box office
Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro’s in-law comedy Little Fockers was #1 at the box office over Christmas weekend.
"Little Fockers" opened to an estimated $27 million from 37 countries.
"Tron: Legacy" held at No. 2 with $26.6 million from 34 territories, boosting its box office total to $65.5 million after two rounds. The sci-fi sequel added eight markets, with Russia throwing off the biggest opening tally ($7.8 million).
"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, fell to No. 3 with $25.5 million from 66 markets. The foreign total stands at $168.6 million, more than two-and-a-half times the film's domestic tally.
"Gulliver's Travels," starring Jack Black in a digital 3D adaptation of the Jonathan Swift classic, opened to $12.4 million from 15 territories, taking the No. 4 spot. It was No. 1 in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Colombia, and No. 3 in Mexico ($2.8 million) and Spain ($2.3 million).
The weekend's No. 5 title -- pending weekend foreign results of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I," which Warners said won't be reported until Monday -- was "Megamind," which rose to $109 million after an $11.6 million weekend.
