Kenny Ortega will bring ‘In The Heights’ on the big screen
Kenny Ortega, director of the High School Musical series of films and This Is It, is attached to direct a movie adaptation of the Broadway musical In The Heights.
Joining Kenny is Lin-Manuel Miranda, who composed, starred in and wrote the musical! Lin rapped his acceptance speech for Best Original Score when he won a Tony award in 2008!
In The Heights has been nominated for 13 Tonys total, taking home the coveted award for Best Musical. The story spans over three days in New York City’s Washington Heights and features hip-hop, salsa and soul music.
