Hilary Swank: ‘Learning how to fly was so euphoric’
Hilary Swank took part in a dedication ceremony of props, costumes and mementos to the Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum and posed with the Lockheed Electra, the plane used in Amelia’s production.
Mira and Hilary spoke about the film and presented the props and mementos to Susan Larson, President of the Ninety-Nines, an aviation group of female pilots.
“Learning how to fly, for me, was so euphoric,” Hilary shared. “Because it was like I was learning how to ride a bike. It was a first. And, you know, it takes all of your senses. You are completely immersed.
“It’s dangerous. It’s adventurous. It’s all of the things that I love and that I think Amelia loved.”
Amelia opened in theaters nationwide on October 23.
