Happy Feet beats again Bond
“Happy Feet” has held off “Casino Royale” at the North American box office for the second weekend in a row, according to BBC News.
Animated comedy stayed at number one, taking $37.9m, compared to $31m for the Bond thriller.
“Happy Feet” has now earned $100m in a fortnight, a period which includes the annual US Thanksgiving holiday.
But “Casino Royale” is on course to become the highest-grossing Bond film.
The film, starring Daniel Craig, generated $94.2m in its two weeks in North American cinemas and $224m international.
Time-traveling thriller “Déjà vu”, starring Denzel Washington, was the highest new entry on the chart at number three.
“Deck the Halls”, a Christmas comedy made its debut in fourth place gathering $12m.
Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat film is the fifth.
“The Fountain”, a sci-fi drama featuring Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman, was new at number 10.
