Dwayne Johnson goes Fast And Furious
Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, is rumoured to teamup with fellow action icon Vin Diesel in the next installment of The Fast and the Furious.
It’s not a done deal but sources tell Deadline that Dwayne is “eyeing a starring role in Fast & Furious 5.”
Fast Five will star Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, TJ Hassan, Don Omar and Tego Calderon.
Chris Morgan and Justin Lin are also to return as writer and director, respectively. Reports have said it will take place after Fast and Furious and Tokyo Drift as both Walker's and Diesel's characters are still escaping from law enforcers.
Dwayne Johnson would most likely star as the leading cop chasing down Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker).
In April 2009, Paul Walker said: "I've spoken with executives at Universal at this point and they're pretty serious about it. They’re developing it. They know where they want it to take place. They want to do it in Europe."
The release date has been announced as June 10, 2011.
